A still from Ek Villain
Every actor in Ek Villain has gone against his/her conventional image to don a brand new avatar for the film. Sidharth Malhotra (Guru) makes the transition from the quintessential lover boy to an angry young man, Riteish Deshmukh (Rakesh), from an ace comic actor to a disgruntled middle-class commoner and Shraddha Kapoor (Aisha), from a sweet romantic to a layered, emotional pixie girl.
Says director Mohit Suri, "I've always opted for unpredictable casting. I go by what I feel the actor is capable of doing. My leads have gone against their grain to enact parts that are completely different from what they've portrayed earlier."
Ek Villain, produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, releases June 27.
